My name is Aminah I am Breeder and owner of Zula’s Shih Tzu of Maine, we started our love of the Shih Tzu breed back in early 2012 with my first Shih Tzu Zula Mae, a stunning black and white female. I was always being asked if I would breed her or where could I get one like her. I was asked every time we went out about getting one of her puppies. As many of you know and many will find out you can’t have just one and after searching, I found a beautiful black male we named Yossi Dean. I had a friend who was a breeder to mentor me so I could build a small in-home breeding program where I could place beautiful high-quality pups for families to cherish.

At Zula’s Shih Tzu of Maine, all our dogs are EMBARK tested and cleared. Our goal in breeding is to eliminate the inheritable conditions through health testing and carefully selected breeding. Which means if a parent dog doesn’t clear all testing they are not breed.

All our dogs are proudly registered with “AKC” American Kennel Club as with all litters.

Here at Zula’s Shih Tzu of Maine we offer a 1-year congenital health guarantee. We have several protocols in place especially with health and behaviors, which result in happy healthy puppies.

All dogs and pups are handled on a daily basis, which makes them so much more social and ready to transition into a new home and family.

Buyers/new families are encouraged to visit puppies while they are growing up and get to know the temperament of both parents. This gives me and you the chance to ask any questions about you pup and me the chance to learn more about you and where the pup will be living. Please know I have the right to refuse a sale of any puppy or retired dog of mine to anyone I deem that is not fit, able to care for one of Zula’s dogs/pups.

New owners/families are encouraged to call me with any questions or concerns they have of raising their new puppy. I am available for the lifetime of your shih Tzu. Should a buyer decide not to keep the dog due to unforeseen circumstances I am to be contacted immediately as I have first refusal and will help rehome. No shih tzus from Zula’s Shih Tzu of Maine are to be sent to shelter, rehomed without my approval, sold to research or sold to another breeder.
